How I work

Problem-led design

I start with the problem, not a list of features. I'm not afraid to keep executives from jumping ahead to solution mode, whilst keeping them engaged and getting the best out of them.

Make the intangible tangible

At AFG, I created a product vision for an API that everyone could get behind - from the devs who were building it to the execs who were paying for it.

Agile coach, not a purist

Agile isn't about process and ceremonies. It's a mindset and I love building a team culture where we work together, embracing change to deliver valuable increments, iteratively.

Ship with AI, not slides

I design, prototype and pressure-test in AI tools, then hand developers something real. It shortens the distance between an idea and a decision about it.

The rest of me

Off the clock...

When I was fifteen, my dad bought a wrecked Kitfox Model 3 which was an awesome surprise! We started rebuilding it together, but realised pretty quickly that it was going to take much longer than expected.

I came home from overseas in 2020, finished my Level 1 aircraft maintenance certificate, and spent most of that year in the hangar getting it done. By early 2021 it was ready to fly, and my dad did the honours of the first flight.

I still get down to the hangar whenever I can. When I'm not flying, you'll find me in the garden at home in Freo, at the pub on a Sunday with a pint of Guinness, or playing chess with my housemates.

I'm always happy to chat about product, design or consulting opportunities!
